Our treatment team has years of experience providing patients the highest level of care while always maintaining a fun, friendly environment.
Our Magnolia and Ballard orthodontist staff stay on top of the latest changes in technological advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars. You can be sure you’re benefiting from state of the art orthodontic care.
What she does at work: Melissa is the Office Manager at Nelson Orthodontics.
What she does outside of work: Melissa has spent her whole life in the Northwest, except for four years when she studied and played tennis at the University of Redlands. She keeps busy playing with her son Alexander, traveling, playing cribbage, and running around tennis courts and golf courses all over Washington.
What she does at work: Kristy is a product of the Nelson Orthodontics legacy as Dr. James Nelson was her orthodontist. Even in Junior High, she loved orthodontics and proudly wore her headgear to school. Now she brings that passion to the team as a Treatment Coordinator.
What she does outside of work: With two young children, Kristy doesn’t have a lot of free time, but when she does, she likes to vacation with her family and to play soccer on her co-ed team.
What she does at work: Carly is a scheduling coordinator at Nelson Orthodontics. She loves greeting each patient with a smile and welcoming them into our office. Her infectious laugh helps keep Nelson Orthodontics a positive, fun place.
What she does outside of work: Carly was raised in Longview, WA. She recently moved back to the Northwest after spending 6 years in Utah. She and her husband enjoy the music scene in Seattle and are usually found at concerts on the weekends or exploring the unique neighborhoods. She is very passionate about cooking and loves sharing recipes whenever she gets the chance.
What she does at work: Jordan is a Scheduling Coordinator at Nelson Orthodontics. She enjoys meeting and greeting all patients into our office. Have a good joke? She would love to hear it and give you one in exchange.
What she does outside of work: Jordan was born and raised in Minnesota. She recently moved to Seattle after graduating from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2016. In her spare time, she loves golfing, open-water swimming, wake surfing and watching sports with her friends. Her two favorite sports teams to root for are the Minnesota Wild and the St. Louis Cardinals.
What she does at work:
Laura is a California native and received her dental assisting certification from Arizona College. She joined our team in June of 2016 after moving to Seattle.
What she does outside of work:
Laura enjoys being active and taking advantage of the outdoors. She loves hiking with her Yorkshire terrier. She also loves spending quality time with her family. You will often find Laura out dancing with her friends and eating at all the hot dog stands in the city.
What she does at work: Kaori began working at Nelson Orthodontics in 1994 as an Orthodontic Assistant and is now the Clinical Coordinator. She is certified by the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting.
What she does outside of work:A native of Japan, Kaori enjoys making traditional Japanese tea and wearing kimono dresses. She also likes hiking, badminton, gardening, reading, and watching movies.
What she does at work: Hannah loves improving people's teeth and confidence in themselves by being a part of helping perfect their smile. She works as one of our assistants and loves being a part of such an awesome team.
What she does outside of work:Hannah currently lives in Edmonds but grew up in Olympia, WA, graduating from Tumwater High School, and attended Edmonds Community College afterward receiving her AA. Shortly following college, she went on to graduate dental assisting school at West Coast College of Dental Assisting.
In her spare time she loves working out, snowboarding, playing roller derby, and relaxing at home binge-watching Netflix. She also has a second job as a nanny to two kids, which was what inspired her to work more with children in a different setting.
What she does at work: Karin earned her BA and a BS at the University of Washington, her MA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her MFA at Columbia College Chicago. She brings her artistic eye and variety of experience to our onsite lab. She is our lab technician and keeps busy preparing models, making retainers and other orthodontic appliances.
What she does outside of work:Outside of the office, Karin is a teaching artist and a working book and paper artist. You can find her work around town in galleries and local shops like the Seattle Art Museum shop, the Schack Art Center in Everett and Venue in Ballard. She also enjoys maker culture, soccer, and exploring the many gorgeous parks, rivers, tidepools and beaches in the Northwest with her husband and two young sons.
