I take my two kids to the Ballard office, and we have had really great experiences. We consulted with one other ortho in the area and by far preferred the atmosphere and friendliness of Dr. Nelson's office. I like it so much I've decided to get some of my 1980s orthodontia spruced up a bit. Dr. Nelson himself is professional yet friendly, and all of the hygienists have been nice, too. When my son got his Phase 1 braces off, they brought him a balloon, which I thought was a cute touch.

Both of my kids have severe food allergies/celiac, and when I inquired to make sure none of the orthodontic materials contained the dangerous ingredients, they were more than accommodating in looking up the information.

The woman who handles financing (Kristy) has a great, calm but outgoing personality and has helped us with the monetary hurdles. She explains everything really well.

Dr. Nelson and the whole team are wonderful with patients of all ages. After extensive orthodontics here, my teeth look better than I had expected and ever thought they would.

Over the years of this process, Dr. Nelson, and his assistants were always courteous, ever so helpful with everything from explaining procedures upfront to recommending the best manner of home dental care and what to expect.

Appointments were ALWAYS on time as scheduled and the receptionists are super courteous and helpful. Once Dr. Nelson even called me at home on his day off when I called in about a wire which came loose!

As a former school teacher, it was a pleasure to observe how fantastic they are with all the young children, teens and their parents who come here for orthodontics.

Dr. Nelson does nothing that is unnecessary, and he is patient with clients on his approach with problem-solving. And since I am someone who wants to understand the full picture and appreciates the art, not just the science of how this can work, he was infinitely patient with this patient!

I hid these teeth till I was 24. After two years of suffering, I now get genuine compliments on my teeth once a week.

The office is brand new. The fish tank is a TV. Paul's cool and will probably be around when its time for me to drag my kid in there with the crowded teeth she got from her dad or the huge gap she got from her mom.
